Clonex Jel 50 mL

What is Clonex?

Clonex® Rooting Hormone Gel is a preferred product among professional and amateur gardeners worldwide, and is an ideal choice for those seeking better and more consistent growth results. This advanced plant hormone formula makes the plant propagation process easier, faster, and more successful, guaranteeing strong root development.

What is Clonex Used For?

• Instant Sealing: Clonex seals cut tissue immediately upon application, reducing the risk of infection and embolism. This rapid action supports the creation of a healthier environment for root growth.
• High Hormone Concentration: With a rooting hormone concentration of 3,000 parts per million, Clonex provides the full power necessary for explosive root development. This concentration delivers optimal results in promoting strong root cell development.
• Safe and Easy to Use: Clonex gel offers a safer application compared to liquids or powders. The gel form eliminates the risk of splashing or flying, ensuring a safe and controlled application. Compared to liquids and powders, Clonex maintains constant contact with the stem throughout the rooting process.
• Continuous Nutrient Supply: Clonex adheres to cuttings, ensuring a continuous supply of nutrients necessary for new plant growth. This continuous nutrient supply increases the overall success rate in propagation.

How to Use Clonex Effectively:

Always pour Clonex into a container before use to prevent potential contamination of the remaining product.

Clonex gel should be applied to each cutting, sealing the cut tissue to create an ideal environment for root development.

Whether you are a professional gardener or a gardening enthusiast, Clonex Rooting Hormone Gel offers a reliable solution for successful and healthy plant propagation.

What is Taking Cuttings? What is a Clone?

A cutting is also known as a clone; it is a propagation method used in plant production. With this method, a specific part of a plant (usually a stem or shoot) is taken with the aim of growing this section as a new plant. The cutting method is used to obtain new plants with the same characteristics by preserving the plant's genetic traits.

How to Use Clonex? How to Take a Successful Clone?

• Taking successful cuttings is an effective way to propagate plants with the genetic traits you desire. Here is a step-by-step guide to taking successful cuttings:

Step 1: Prepare the Mother Plant

Start 2-3 days before taking the clone. Select suitable growth tips from the mother plant and spray with Clonex Mist. Amino acids will help prepare the growth tips for rooting.

Step 2: Preparation

Pour a small amount of Clonex into a dish or shot glass. Close the Clonex bottle and save it for future use.

Step 3: Making the Cut (2 Cuts Required)

Cut 1: Select a stem on the mother plant that has a set of 2 or 3 leaves. Cut just above a node with scissors.

Cut 2: Remove all leaves except a few healthy ones. Now, using a sterile scalpel, make a 45-degree cut just below the next node. This angle provides a larger contact surface area with Clonex.

Step 4: Dip and Plant

Immediately dip the cut into Clonex, ensuring the bottom few centimeters are coated with gel. Gently push the stem into the inside of a Root Riot cube.

Step 5: Place in Propagator

After the cuts are completed, place the new cuttings into a propagator and mist with Clonex Mist. Repeat the misting process every 2 days. Ideally, place under a T5-lit propagator at 23°C for 18 hours a day. Do not allow the cubes to dry out; humidity is best when there is light condensation on the inside of the propagator lid. When the plants show signs of growth, slightly open the propagator lid or open ventilation holes.

Note: A node is the point where a leaf joins a plant's stem. Each leaf has a dorma at its base. Taking a cutting just above a node promotes the growth of 2 new stems from the base of each leaf.
