What is Root Riot?

The Root Riot Seed Tray provided by Growth Technology is a specialized organic propagation medium designed for both soil and hydroponic cultivation. This seed tray is manufactured to ensure plants develop healthy and rapid root systems, featuring a sponge-like texture and organic fertilizer material. Instead of traditional seedbeds, this tray offers a superior solution for clones and seeds, outperforming alternative culture media.

The Root Riot Seed Tray consists of a 24-alveolus tray with dimensions of 31x19 cm. Each alveolus accommodates a 36 mm stem. Made from organic materials, this seed tray is fully biodegradable, offering an eco-friendly option.

This specialized seed tray accelerates root development, enabling plants to establish healthier and stronger root systems. Its sponge-like texture maintains a perfect air/water ratio, aiding in the growth of roots under ideal conditions. Simultaneously, the organic fertilizer material nourishes the plants, ensuring the production of healthy plants with high nutritional value.

The Root Riot Seed Tray is extremely easy to use. New plants can be easily removed from the tray and transferred to soil or another medium. This feature provides convenience and flexibility to the user.

What is Taking a Cutting? What is a Clone?

A cutting is also known as a clone; it is a propagation method used in plant production. With this method, a specific part of a plant (usually a branch or shoot) is taken to be grown as a new plant. The cutting method is used to obtain new plants with the same characteristics by maintaining the plant's genetic properties.

How to Use Root Riot? How to Take a Successful Clone?

Taking successful cuttings is an effective way to propagate plants with the genetic properties you desire. Here is a step-by-step guide to taking successful cuttings:

• Step 1: Prepare the Mother Plant
  Start 2-3 days before taking the clone. Select appropriate growing tips from the mother plant and spray with Clonex Mist. Amino acids will help prepare the growing tips for rooting.
• Step 2: Preparation
  Pour some Clonex into a saucer or shot glass. Close the Clonex bottle and save it for later use.
• Step 3: Making the Cut (2 Cuts Required)
  Cut 1: Select a branch on the mother plant with 2 or 3 sets of leaves. Cut just above a node with scissors.
  Cut 2: Cut off all leaves except a few healthy ones. Now, using a sterile razor, make a 45-degree cut just below the next node. This angle provides more surface area for contact with Clonex.
• Step 4: Dip and Plant
  Immediately dip the cut into Clonex, ensuring the bottom few centimeters are covered with gel. Gently push the stem into a Root Riot cube.
• Step 5: Place in Propagator
  After the cuts are completed, place the new cuttings into a propagator and mist with Clonex Mist. Repeat the misting process every 2 days. Ideally, place under a T5-lit propagator for 18 hours a day at a temperature of 23°C. Do not allow the cubes to dry out; humidity is perfect when there is slight condensation on the inside of the propagator lid. When plants show signs of growth, slightly open the propagator lids or open ventilation holes.

Note: A node is the point where a bud joins a plant's stem. Each leaf has a node at its base. Taking a cutting just above a node encourages 2 new stems to grow from the base of each leaf.
