What is Canna Start?
CANNA Start is a unique, balanced, single-part fertilizer designed to meet the needs of cuttings and rooting segments. CANNA Start provides all primary, secondary, and micro nutrients required for a cutting or seedling to transform into a strong and healthy plant.
What does Canna Start do?
CANNA Start is not a rooting agent (it does not have a rooting contribution), but rather a nutrient that can be perfectly combined with a rooting stimulator such as CANNA RHIZOTONIC. By adding CANNA Start to the CANNA series, we have a complete program from start to finish!

The needs of cuttings and seedlings are different from those of established plants. Therefore, using a normal plant fertilizer for a cutting or seedling poses a risk of over-fertilization.
Diluting a normal plant fertilizer to make it suitable for cuttings and seedlings is not a solution. Such dilution does not contain sufficient amounts of macro and micro elements. This leads to yellowing of the plant material, which is not a good start for your crop. Ultimately, to reach strong, healthy plants, it is necessary to start correctly from the beginning. Therefore, CANNA developed CANNA Start to obtain the correct ratio of all nutrients for cuttings and seedlings.
Propagation Medium
CANNA Start is designed for use on various propagation substrates such as Rockwool (stone wool), coconut pellets, Jiffy tablets, seed mixes, and other propagation media. It is suitable for use in all propagation environments except for recyclable systems and cloning machines.

Perfect compatibility with CANNA Nutrients
CANNA Start is perfectly compatible with all other CANNA nutrients. When cuttings are transferred from clones to their final environment, you switch to the appropriate CANNA (Vega) nutrient for the rest of the cycle in your growing medium (TERRA, COCO, SUBSTRA or AQUA).
How to use Canna Start?
- Shake the bottle well before use
- Fill the nutrient reservoir with water
- Add CANNA Start to the nutrient reservoir at a dilution ratio of 1:250 (40 ml/10 liters or 15 ml/gallon)
- CANNA Start's EC in tap water varies between 0.7 - 1.3 mS (= solution EC + water EC)
- Recommended pH: 5.2 - 6.2
- Ensure sufficient drainage (10%)
What should I pay attention to when using Canna Start?
- Keep in a place inaccessible to children
- Store in a dark place
- Over-fertilization has a negative effect on nutrient balance and plant quality
- If the solution comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse with water
