What is Canna Start?

Canna Start is a unique, balanced, one-part fertilizer designed to meet the needs of cuttings and rooting stages. Canna Start provides all primary, secondary, and micronutrients required for a cutting or seedling to transform into a strong and healthy plant.

What does Canna Start do?

Canna Start is a fertilizer, not a root stimulator (it does not contribute a rooting effect), and can be perfectly combined with a root stimulator such as CANNA RHIZOTONIC. By adding Canna Start to the CANNA series, we have a complete program from start to product!

Reduces risk of over-fertilization

The needs of cuttings and seedlings differ from those of established plants. Therefore, using a standard plant fertilizer for a cutting or seedling carries a risk of over-fertilization.

Prevents yellowing of plant material

Diluting a standard plant fertilizer to make it suitable for cuttings and seedlings is not a solution. Such dilution does not contain sufficient amounts of macro and micro elements. This causes yellowing of the plant material; this is not a good start for your crop. Ultimately, to reach strong, healthy plants, you must start correctly from the beginning. Therefore, Canna developed Canna Start to obtain the correct ratio of all nutrients for cuttings and seedlings.

Propagation Medium

Canna Start is designed for use on various propagation substrates such as Rockwool (stone wool), coconut pellets, Jiffy tablets, seed mixes, and other propagation media. It can be used in all propagation media except for recirculating systems and cloning machines.

Who should use Canna Start?

• Those who take their own cuttings
• Those who place cuttings or seedlings in small pots first, then transfer them to the final growing medium

• Canna Start is a complete one-part fertilizer containing all necessary elements in one bottle (no need for A and B versions).

Perfect compatibility with Canna Nutrients

Canna Start is perfectly compatible with all other Canna fertilizers. When cuttings are transferred from clones to the final medium, you will switch to the Canna (Vega) fertilizer suitable for your growing medium for the rest of the cycle (TERRA, COCO, SUBSTRA or AQUA).

How to use Canna Start?

• Shake the bottle well before use
• Fill the nutrient reservoir with water
• Add Canna Start to the nutrient reservoir at a dilution ratio of 1:250 (40 ml/10 liters or 15 ml/gal)
• Canna Start's dissolved EC in tap water varies between 0.7 - 1.3 mS (= solution EC + water EC)
• Recommended pH: 5.2 - 6.2
• Ensure adequate drainage (10%)

What should I pay attention to when using Canna Start?

• Keep it out of reach of children
• Store in a dark place
• Over-fertilization has a negative effect on nutrient balance and plant quality
• If the solution comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse with water
